Willow Weaving, Quilting etc

As we continue to manage the economic freefall of the last year there are lots and lots of articles and bits of info about Growing Your Own, Quilting your own bedding, Weaving your own baskets etc by way of getting back to basics and not always relying on John Lewis to solve all our needs. Kirsty Allsop did a lovely series, if a little based on very deep pockets, offering this idea about doing things ourselves to save money, learn new skills, and buy British. I liked it because not only did she create a home that was unique and individual, it also reminded us that we don't have to just consume new stuff from shops to have a happy life.
Anyway...I wanted to remind that you don't have to be very rich or live in Devon to have access to lovely, experienced tutors to help you learn new skills and have fab days out. We do day courses in Willow Weaving, Hedge Laying, Quilting, Life Drawing and Jewellery making in the rolling Staffordshire countryside with yummy home made lunches and cake! Accommodation is 4 star and eco too.
