These are so special. Fun to make, messy for the kids and fab last minute pressies for friends and loved ones.
150g of chocolate (milk or plain)
50g flaked almonds
5 tbsp castor sugar
3 tbsp plain flour
50g chopped mixed peel
50g combination glace cherries/sultanas to suit
Pre heat the oven to 180c and line a baking sheet with greaseproof paper. Melt the butter and sugar and when fully dissolved add the flour and mixed fruits. You can replace the flour with a dollop of double cream if you prefer. when all mixed together take off heat and add spoonfuls onto the try making sure there is plenty of space between when they spread and cook. Cook for 10 minutes. Leave to cool for 10 mins before using a pallette knife to cool completely on a wire rack. In the meantime melt the chocolate and when the biccies are properly cool either dip them into the chocolate and half cover or spread chocolate onto the flat side and allow to set. they will keep in an airtight container for about a week - if you don't scoff them first!
