August Bank Holiday nr Alton Towers?

Our holiday cottage, Rowan House, in the beautiful village of Alton, Staffordshire has some availability at the end of August and is the perfect spot to base a week or short break exploring the area. You might find that you fancy Alton Towers for a day and then wonder why you would stay longer - and what to do?! Well... here's a plan...

Day 1: Arrive at Rowan House with up to 6 or 7 of your friends or family and find all your beds made up in crisp white linen with fresh flowers, tea and cake waiting for you. Relax and settle in, enjoying the views over the organic garden and beyond while pondering supper. This could be at home, cooked by you in the brilliantly equipped kitchen or I could leave a home made lasagne in the fridge. Perhaps you prefer the pub? There are plenty of options in the village and all walking distance from the house. Have a relaxing nights sleep in the peace and quiet.

Day 2: Wake up to more lovely views and tranquility. Drive just 2 minutes to Alton Towers at the other side of the valley and have a great day out with lots of thrills and excitement. Come home and sink into a hot bath or the comfy sofa with a glass of something good and plan more supper. Again perhaps to the pub, my cooking or all together in the dining room. More great sleep.

Day 3: What to do? Perhaps start with a delicious local breakfast pre ordered and left for you enjoy. You may have asked me to help you plan your day at booking to suit your interests. Ideas will include walking (we have maps & routes), cycling, lunch out, shopping and pottering in an historic town, searching round the Emma Bridgwater shop or the famous Burleigh and Moorcroft potteries, Trentham Estates with Monkey Park and famous gardens, Chatsworth, a National Trust property, a steam railway, canal barge or a sailing trip. Perhaps you might choose riding or quad biking or even a Llama trail...all these are within a 30 minute drive from Rowan House. I could also put a picnic together for you to save on time.

Day 4: time for home or are you tempted to have a full week away...the choice is yours throughout the year.

All this for as little as £25 per person per night.

All this makes for a fabulous family and friends holiday with the right ammount of fun and relaxation to suit you. Feel free to cal me (Emily) or email to go through your holiday requirements whether its the few remaining school holidays or an Autumn break to restore and unwind.
